Manual introduction of movement is the province of massage therapists. What we do with our hands creates movement in tissues which have become immobile. It is movement which stuck myofasciae crave. As a result of manual therapy, fascial layers begin to slide, connective tissue melts and is lubricated, blood flow and metabolic exchange are increased. These are all forms of movement.
This interactive class teaches undulation, a gentle movement that creates a coordinated wave through multiple joints and muscles in the spine. You can use undulation to work deeper, more easily, to find restrictions more quickly, and to release holding in your clients and yourself. Learning experiences include anatomy review, simple assessment techniques, hands-on work, and movement practice. Deepen your understanding of the spine and learn new tools to focus your work.
We'll explore the three applications of movement in bodywork
At the end of this course you will be able to:
What better way to augment manual therapy than by using movement in a broader sense?
